This is yet another poem that has a lot of depth and meaning. It's very close to my heart. However, I make no claims on it. It's credit goes to Ee cummings.
"I carry your heart with me(i carry it inmy heart)
I am never without it(anywhere I go, you go,my dear;
And whatever is done by me is only your doing, my darling)
I fear no fate(for you are my fate, my sweet)
I want no world(for beautiful you are my world, my true)
And it's you who are whatever a moon has always meant
And whatever a sun will always sing is you
Here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(Here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
And the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
Which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
And this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart..
I carry your heart(i carry it in my heart) "
It also featured in a movie called "In Her Shoes". It's read beautifully by Cameron Diaz..
1 pieces of wisdom:
hmmm what can i say, other than the words, 'i am touched'. the essence of poetry has always been to stir emotions, well at least i looked at it that way and this one has clearly done so. is it 'love' he is talking about or it is 'the universal law'? is he talking about 'nature' or he is talking about 'god'? alas interpretation can be many and that is the beauty of poetry. thanks cow for proving me an opportunity to read the verse.
